Product access for independent agents & agencies

Private & off-market health products for agents.

Add options to your portfolio with a clear understanding of what you’re presenting. Mangrove Insurance Advisory helps independent agents and agencies explore product access, review the details, and start the contracting conversation.

Our specialization

Know the product.
Explain it clearly.

At Mangrove, “private and off-market health” describes the product-access conversations within our specialization. It is a portfolio label, not a promise that every product has the same structure, benefits, or protections.

We work through the product materials and partner relationships with you, so you can explain both the opportunity and the limitations to your customers. Amerus Summit Health is the publicly featured relationship in this category.

Request Product Access

Use the right terms

The label is a starting point.

Ask what the specific product is and how it works. These terms answer different questions.

Private health insurance
A broad description, not a synonym for non-ACA coverage. Marketplace insurance is also offered by private companies. CMS Marketplace overview.
Off-exchange
Describes coverage purchased outside a Health Insurance Marketplace. The purchase channel alone does not establish a product’s benefits or ACA status. CMS explanation of off-exchange coverage.
Off-market
Our shorthand for this part of the Mangrove portfolio. We identify the actual product structure and applicable requirements in the product conversation; the phrase alone does not define coverage.
Non-ACA
Do not infer a product’s regulatory status from “private” or “off-market.” Ask which ACA requirements and protections apply to the specific coverage, and review the current documents before positioning it alongside ACA coverage.

Before you recommend a product

Understand the details your customer will rely on.

A broader portfolio is useful when you can explain where each option fits and where it does not.

Structure and responsible parties

Identify the issuer, sponsor, or administrator, as applicable. Understand who is responsible for benefits, enrollment, claims, and service.

Benefits and limitations

Review covered services, benefit limits, exclusions, cost sharing, networks, and prescription provisions where applicable. Use current plan documents, including a Summary of Benefits and Coverage when provided.

Eligibility and enrollment

Confirm state availability, eligibility criteria, enrollment requirements, and appointment requirements for the actual product and applicant.

Featured product relationship

Meet the products.
Then get into the details.
